Meet our chef

Sungchul Shim

Born and raised in the Korean province of Jeollanam-do, Sung grew up cooking in his family’s kitchen for large gatherings and parties. Sung has worked in acclaimed kitchens including Le Bernardin, Per Se, Morimoto, and Neta in Greenwich Village. In October 2019, Sung opened his first solo project Kochi, offering a nine-course tasting menu of Korean skewered dishes which received one Michelin star.

Our Team

Jooyoung Yang, previously of Jungsik and current manager of Kochi also joins the team as operations director, alongside sommelier Roberto Longo, previously of Jungsik and Del Posto, who oversees the beverage program.
