Sungchul Shim, chef and owner of the Michelin star restaurant Kochi opens his second restaurant Mari in Hell's Kitchen, 679 9th Avenue, between 46th and 47th streets.

At Mari [roll in Korean], Sung offers a tasting menu of street-food inspired Korean hand rolls, complemented by an extensive wine list and a selection of Korean spirits like soju and makgeolli.
The bright, intimate space features engaging counter-style seating around an open kitchen as well as a cozy outdoor dining area that will be heated for the colder months.
OUR Menu
The $125 tasting menu is centered around Korean handrolls that combine Korean and traditional kimbap ingredients.


DESIGN
The bright, contemporary space is centered by an open kitchen, surrounded by a 16-seat white marble chef counter that is backlit by blue tiles with brass trim, and grey upholstered high stools.
The dining room offers an additional 20 upholstered seats with white oak wood tables, and a flower inspired chandelier from Moooi Heracleum. Outdoor dining area is complete with greenery and hanging pendant lights under each covered table that is fully heated for inclement weather.
